- Booking Data: Service type, date, time, address, and notes associated with bookings you create or accept.
- Payment Information: If a convenience fee applies, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data.
- Communications: Messages sent through the Platform between clients and helpers.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, actions taken, and device/browser information collected automatically.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account on the Platform.
- To facilitate bookings between families and helpers.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and service notifications via email and SMS.
- To process convenience fees through Stripe when applicable.
- To display your profile to families searching for helpers in your area.
- To improve Platform functionality and user experience.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important updates.
3. SMS / Text Message Communications
By providing your phone number and using the Platform, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Iowa Helpers related to bookings and platform activity (e.g., booking confirmations, status updates).
- To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message we send.
- To receive help, reply HELP.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.
- SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only as necessary to operate the Platform:

- Supabase — secure database and authentication infrastructure hosting your account data.
- Other users: Your public profile (name, photo, bio, services, and ratings) is visible to other users of the Platform. Your contact information is shared with the other party in a confirmed booking.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Iowa Helpers or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

- Access & correction: You may view and update your account information at any time from your dashboard.
- Data deletion: To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at hello@iowahelpers.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
- SMS opt-out: Reply STOP to any SMS message from us.
- Marketing emails: You may unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and row-level database security to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
