Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Iowa Helpers platform at IowaHelpers.com (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Iowa Helpers

Iowa Helpers is a hyperlocal marketplace platform that connects families ("Clients") with local workers ("Helpers") for services including but not limited to babysitting, lawn care, pet sitting, snow removal, and errands. Iowa Helpers is a technology platform only — we do not employ, supervise, direct, or control the work performed by Helpers.

2. Iowa Helpers is Not an Employer

Helpers who use the Platform are independent individuals, not employees, agents, contractors, or representatives of Iowa Helpers. Iowa Helpers does not:

• Employ, hire, or supervise Helpers.
• Set the rates, hours, or working conditions for Helpers.
• Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any service provided.
• Conduct background checks on Helpers (unless separately disclosed).

The relationship between a Client and a Helper is solely between those parties. Iowa Helpers is not a party to any service agreement between them.

3. Limitation of Liability

Iowa Helpers is not responsible for the actions, conduct, or omissions of any Helper or Client. This includes but is not limited to property damage, personal injury, theft, negligence, or any other harm arising from a service arranged through the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iowa Helpers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or any services arranged through it.

4. Payments & Convenience Fees

Helpers are paid directly by Clients. Iowa Helpers does not process payments between Clients and Helpers for the cost of services. Accepted payment methods between parties include cash, Venmo, PayPal, or any method agreed upon by both parties.

Iowa Helpers may charge a one-time booking convenience fee at the time of booking confirmation. This fee is processed securely via Stripe and is separate from any payment made directly to the Helper. Convenience fees are non-refundable once a booking is confirmed, except at Iowa Helpers' sole discretion.

5. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number and registering on the Platform, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Iowa Helpers related to your bookings and account activity.

• Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS messages.
• Reply HELP for assistance.
• Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
• SMS opt-in data will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Age Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on the Platform.
• Helpers under the age of 18 must have the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform and provide services.
• Iowa Helpers strongly recommends that parents or guardians of minor Helpers remain involved in and aware of any bookings their child accepts.
• Clients are responsible for ensuring that a minor Helper's services are appropriate for the tasks requested and that all applicable laws regarding the employment of minors are followed.

7. User Responsibilities

By using the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile and bookings.
• Treat other users with respect and professionalism.
• Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Not post false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews or information.
• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws in connection with any services arranged through the Platform.

8. Account Termination

Iowa Helpers reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, conduct that we determine in our sole discretion to be harmful to other users or the Platform, or for any other reason.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including the Iowa Helpers name, logo, design, and software — is the property of Iowa Helpers and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Iowa Helpers does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Iowa.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
